In honor of Amir Bar-Lev's MY KID COULD PAINT THAT (which opens tomorrow in Los Angeles and New York City) and on the occasion of my own visit to the San Diego Film Festival last weekend (where my own film was wrapping up its US festival run), I handed my camera over to my 3 1/2 year old daughter Madeleine, and asked her to chronicle the festival and city as she saw it.
Or more to the point, she took the camera from me and started shooting. In either case, I have numerous festival witnesses who can attest that it was indeed Madeleine who shot these photographs, lest 60 Minutes come calling. Thanks to everyone in San Diego for their hospitality. It was a lovely few days in (more) Southern California.
