I had some of the same questions when I saw the film at SXSW. I also found some of the talking head footage interesting, since it often contradicts (implicitly or explicitly) the "wisdom" of taking your child to a shaman who basically equates autism with demon possession. I wondered if these interviews were the director's own way of expressing his skepticism.

It's an interesting film and it's easy to be overcome by the beautiful cinematography and the emotional payoff, but I think there are some deeper issues that merit discussion.
