Acclaimed filmmaker Kim Longinotto, the winner of the World Cinema Grand Jury Prize at the recent Sundance Film Festival for her latest film, ROUGH AUNTIES, has been named as the recipient of the True/False Film Festival's sole prize - the True Vision Award, "given annually to a filmmaker (or filmmakers) whose work shows a dedication to the creative advancement of the art of nonfiction filmmaking."
It's the first time in True/False's 6-year history that a female filmmaker has received the award.
According to the local Columbia Missourian, at least three other Sundance titles are amongst this year's line-up, which is scheduled to be announced Tuesday morning: Eric Daniel Metzgar's REPORTER, Laura Gabbert's NO IMPACT MAN and crowd pleaser THE YES MEN SAVE THE WORLD.
