From Oxford, UK - Annie Sundberg and Ricki Stern's film about the Darfur crisis - THE DEVIL CAME ON HORSEBACK took the top international film prize at the 2nd annual BritDoc, just concluding here in Oxford. Kijm Longinotto's HOLD ME TIGHT, LET ME GO, a look at a UK school for children with behavioural problema won the award for Best British Film.
The jury in the International Competition also awarded a special jury prize to Jason Kohn's Sundance award winning MANDA BALA (SEND A BULLET) and an honorable mention to Andrey Paoulov's THE MOSQUITO PROBLEM & OTHER STORIES - two excellent films that I saw for the first time in Oxford.
The shorts prize was awarded to A MEDIUM AT LARGE by Luke Sewell, with an honorable mention to SMALLTOWN BOY by Moby Longinotto.
