The video's not great, but the audio is more than fine. The late great Ms. Kitt sings the title song from 1958's ST. LOUIS BLUES.
Update: The wondrous Sarah Thyre points us to a rather amazing piece of video - a 1989 collaboration between Kitt and the Bronski Beat that was apparently originally intended for Divine as it's based on a line of dialogue from FEMALE TROUBLE.
There are things that one does in his life about which he can be genuinely pleased. In 1983, I met the French producer's of Ms. Kitt's wildly successful (in France) dance record "Where is my man?" in my attorneys' office. I was one of the founders and organizers of Streetwise Records, and we were offered the opportunity to distribute that title in the US. She had not found any other distributor at that point. The NY Times obit points out that that was her most successful release in 30 years, and totally restarted her career in the US. I later went to see her several years in a row at the Carlysle Hotel where she did cabaret for a month or so each winter. She's great. The song was great. We were all pleased to have added our "grain of sand" to her career.

Thanks for the Streetwise background story! I played the vocal side (of course) of that 12" single on this week's episode of Outsight Radio Hours as we remembered the late, great Eartha Kitt.
