Paris Hilton Goes to DocuWeek (No Lie) and Adrian Grenier's Next Doc Project

It's not often that we, in our relatively doc-centric little world, are allowed to get all Just Jared on your ass, but lo and behold, DocuWeek - at least for a brief moment - found itself in the middle of a paparazzi moment when celebrity friend-couple of the moment Paris Hilton and Adrian Grenier dropped by the Landmark to catch Alex Gibney's excellent TAXI TO THE DARKSIDE.

It's really not a surprise that Adrian Grenier, whose documentary directorial debut launched at Toronto last year AND who was spotted catching docs (including the wonderful BILLY THE KID) at LAFF this summer AND who attended the DocuWeek opening reception on Thursday, was interested in nonfiction filmmaking.  But who would've thought that Paris Hilton would be interested in a movie about unjust imprisonment and torture?

Strangely enough, the video at the link with all the Paris and Adrian pictures, allows a peak at Grenier's upcoming documentary about paparazzi - as DV cameras follow him and Hilton as they pose for photographers - and later when Adrian asks the videographer behind this clip whether he has signed a release. 

The second part of the video shows the pair coming out of the DocuWeek screening with an impassioned response to the film coming from Grenier:

"Go out and see 'Taxi Cab (sic) to the Dark Side.  Go out and educate yourself.  Seek out information that the popular media's not telling you.  And educate yourself so that when you vote in 2008, you're making the right choice.  It's gotta stop, what's happening."

Even Hilton agrees that it's a really good movie.  But hey, guys, since you're diving into the nonfiction waters at DocuWeek, I have a movie about a celebrity who was unfairly hounded by tabloid press that she might be interested in.
