True/False Day Zero
On the road in Columbia, Missouri for the upcoming True/False Film Festival. I say upcoming because it officially starts tomorrow, even though opening night is Friday and even though there was a sneak preview screening of About A Son tonight on the University of Missouri campus (my alma mater, by the way).
As of now, I am the only filmmaker in town and I am sitting in the True/False offices as programmers and volunteers talk about arriving guests, some strange Survivor pool and the possibility that Columbia will be struck by a massive storm (complete with tornadoes) sometime during the night.
Tomorrow, guests start to arrive and by Friday, the town will be swarmed and the fest will kick off with the opening night screening of In the Shadow of the Moon on Friday. This will be preceded in true True/False fashion by a parade. Beat that.
More reports from Columbia through the weekend. And I may even get around to blogging about the past weekend's award show action. (I'm still looking at you Fecility Hoffman.)
For more previews of True/False 07, here's one from Eugene Hernandez at Indiewire and here's the link for extensive local coverage from blogger Pete Bland. Doc bloggers Sarah Jo Marks and Joel Heller are also scheduled to be in Columbia and will be blogging from the fest.
I just saw that your film is playing at AFI Dallas...will you be coming up to North Texas then, too?

I don't know if I will be at AFI Dallas or not. The schedule for March and April is pretty jam packed and I'm gonna have to sit some fests out. But very excited for Austin in just over a week.

Me too. And I just realized that I'm probably gonna be in LA during AFI Dallas anyway. But I'll get all my friends here to go see it.
