Seattle, Day 17 - Wrapped For Picture
Late Saturday night/early Sunday morning, we called wrap on our untitled Cobain film project.
Almost three and a half months after we began shooting, we stood inside Neumos in Seattle and shot the last bit of film. This last trip was short and sort of bittersweet - most of our crew was back together for two final days. And as each of our previous trips were week-long productions, it was strange to be over almost as soon as we began.
Now, it's back into the edit. We're almost finished with our first rough assemblage of the footage, the composers have delivered their rough mixes, almost all of the additional music has been cleared and approved by the artists and their labels & publishers.
Much has been done, but there is still much to do.
A few pictures from the last two days...
Me and producer Shirley Moyers shooting inside the Alaska Airlines Terminal D at SeaTac Airport.
Production Manager Stephanie Meurer and Key Grip Greg Smith in Seattle's U-District.
Me and Come As You Are: The Story of Nirvana/Our Band Could Be Your Life author Michael Azerrad outside Neumos. This was Michael's first visit to set on the project, although we've worked together closely on the film from the beginning.
Band of Horses, a great band with a new album coming out later this month on Sub Pop plays at Neumos. We shot portions of their show for the film.
PS - An interview I did with one of the leading Nirvana fan sites recently went up. More info about the project can be found there.

I read about the documentry you are doing over Kurt Cobain (it was on NFC). If it doesn't make it to every theater in the world, or is never sold on DVD, you HAVE TO sell me a copy! I know a lot of people that would love to have it.

Hey Jen,
Thanks for writing and encouragement. We're definitely gonna do everything in our power to get it out to as many people as possible. Thanks for spreading the word.
